Frenkie de Jong on recent reports about plans to leave Barça: “There are lot of fake news on the press. Some of you should feel ashamed, this has to stop”. “People invented numbers of my salary”. “I’m very happy at Barça, I hope to stay here for many years”.
“Some of you write lies all the time and I don’t get how you are not ashamed about it.” Frenkie de Jong has criticised reports suggesting that Barcelona may be open to selling him this summer due to their difficult financial situation.
Xavi: “Frenkie de Jong has said what he felt in the press conference. I know that he’s happy here at Barça”. “I think that he can stay here for many years to come”.
Frenkie de Jong went on to say “You (Xavi) are talking a lot about my contract, my situation in the team, and my salary. A lot of smoke, a lot of lies”. “Reports of €40m salary is very far from what I really earn”.
De Jong goes on and speaks about Napoli in the Chanmpions league: “We are very excited. We haven’t been in the round of 16 for a couple of years. We are really looking forward to it.” “Napoli have a great team. Last year they won Serie A, this year they are having a harder time, but they have managed to reach the round of 16. It is going to be a difficult game.”

He then lashes out at the media and said this: “I think what you have to change is what you are doing with many players and coaches, writing things that are not true. Sometimes I hear that I don’t have Barça level. I think the press should change the lies about me.”
He then looks over to Xavi and said something in his native Dutch language, but we at Sportflava picked it up, and it even though it wasn’t pretty clear but he mentioned that Xavi was behind it.
