Jamal Musiala speaks on current Man United player ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Man United will host the closing Champions League group fixture between the two teams, who are both coming off the back of disappointing league results on the weekend.

Bayern Munich were outplayed and humiliated as they lost 5-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, whilst Manchester United were defeated 3-0 by Bournemouth at home.

their positions in Europe couldn’t be further apart. The German side are cruising at the top of Group A, with a guaranteed top-spot finish no matter the result on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s side must collect three points against the Bundesliga champions to have any hope of qualification to the knock-out stages of the competition. They also need the other group game, between Galatasaray and Copenhagen, to end in a draw.

At the Allianz Arena in September, Jamal Musiala ran the show in the midfield against United in his team’s 4-3 win, and the 20-year-old will be expecting more of the same this week in England.

The German midfielder has admitted that Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho – who is currently unavailable for the club due to his grudge match against Ten Hag – was something of an inspiration for his move to the Bundesliga after he succeeded at Borussia Dortmund as a teenager.

“A little yeah,” replied Musiala when asked if the United winger inspired his move. “You see how well he was doing after the transition from England to Germany, and seeing how well he was doing in the Bundesliga was nice to see. It gives us a little boost in your confidence that I could make it as well,” said Musiala.

Bayern will feel confident going into the game at Old Trafford despite not having as much on the line. Yet, Musiala has stated that the German side will not go into the game naively even though United are in a rotten spell of form.

“The way we play we try to control games against any opponents, that’s our game style, so we can be good in possession and have no sloppy mistakes, the quality we have in attack we can create a lot of chances,” he added.
